Programming Community Learning with Josie's Way
"We were tasked with designing the educational program for Josie’s Way. We gathered student input through surveys, consulting with faculty experts across Engineering, Architecture, and Education, and studying successful project-based learning models at UVA and other universities. We explored multiple formats and ultimately proposed a semester-long, interdisciplinary course that emphasizes community impact, hands-on learning, and student ownership. We also piloted early components of the course through a design prototype in Reid Bailey’s class and upcoming summer outreach with engineering GIRLS@UVA" - Shadaan
Strategizing Outreach with YellowRed
"Our team created a comprehensive strategic outreach package to help YellowRed expand its presence on college campuses. We developed a client-facing slideshow introducing five key student organization types and outlining tailored strategies, approaches, and selling points for each. Our team produced customized email templates aligned with our strategy to support outreach efforts. We also designed polished presentation decks tailored to each organization type featuring YellowRed’s core features, benefits, and partnership opportunities. The final deliverable provides YellowRed with a complete toolkit for immediate, effective campus engagement." - Elias
Expanding overseas with SWAP
"Our team partnered with SWAP to design a strategic expansion plan for launching a new chapter at Utrecht University. We explored multiple setup models, evaluated funding opportunities, and ultimately recommended piloting the launch through a partnership with Utrecht’s Thrift Shack. This low-barrier approach leverages existing infrastructure, minimizes startup costs, and allows for flexible, student-driven programming. We outlined the next steps, including a shipment of curated clothing from UVA and a comprehensive fundraising roadmap to support the initiative. We applied systems thinking to help position SWAP to expand its mission of sustainable, student-led fashion activism internationally." - Zane
Streamlining Workflow with Madison House
"Our team worked with Madison House to streamline their background checking process, which was previously time-consuming and prone to human error. One of the key issues we addressed was the lack of a system to detect duplicate entries, which led to unnecessary manual work. To solve this, we developed a tool that automatically filters out duplicates from uploaded spreadsheets and consolidates data into a single, clean file. Our solution reduces the number of steps required, minimizes human error, and simplifies the overall workflow." - Grace
Networking and Fundraising with UVA Wheelchair Tennis
"We were tasked with developing a networking and fundraising strategy to sustain the UVA Wheelchair Tennis Club. We analyzed the club’s current challenges of graduating members, limited awareness, and unstable funding. We brainstormed solutions and proposed a multi-pronged plan that includes short-term fundraising, such as a joint tournament with Club Tennis and a UVARec takeover by the wheelchair tennis president, which allowed our client, Brian, to show UVARec’s over 10k followers what wheelchair tennis is all about. These approaches would ideally be executed alongside long-term sustainability efforts like regularly programmed adapted sports clinics at the AFC, a summer camp for Virginia wheelchair users funded by PATA, a long-term partner of UVA’s wheelchair tennis team, and the implementation of for-credit adaptive athletics courses across UVA disciplines. Together, these initiatives aim to increase visibility, build community partnerships, and secure the future of wheelchair tennis at UVA.”
